14-021 RESOLUTION NO. 14 -021
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS,
NAMING A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE REGIONAL
TRANSPORTATION COUNCIL; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) is an independent
transportation policy body of the Metropolitan Planning Organization and a
transportation committee of the North Central Texas Council of Governments; and
WHEREAS, membership of the RTC consists of local elected or appointed officials
from the metropolitan area and representatives from each of the area's transportation
providers; and
WHEREAS, membership is either by direct membership or group representation; and
WHEREAS, based on the Bylaws of the RTC the City of Southlake is in a group
representation that includes the cities of Keller, Grapevine, Colleyville, Westlake,
Trophy Club, Roanoke, Bedford, Euless and Hurst; and
WHEREAS, the person representing a group shall be selected by the mayors using a
weighted vote of the maximum population or employment of the cities represented; and
WHEREAS, the City Council expresses their wish to name Colleyville Council member
Mike Taylor as the primary representative for the group's representation and Hurst
Council member Bill McLendon as the alternate representative; and
WHEREAS, this appointment is for a term of two years beginning in June of even -
numbered years.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the
City Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if
copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City of Southlake hereby names Mike Taylor as the City's primary
representative and Bill McLendon as the alternate member for a term of two years
beginning in June of even - numbered years.
Section 3. That this resolution is effective upon passage by the City Council.
