A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, IN SUPPORT OF
THE RESERVOIR WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PROGRAM;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE UPON
PASSAGE AND APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, the North Central Texas Council of Governments ("NCTCOG")
and seven major supply agencies have developed and adopted a
Policy Position on Protection of Water Supply Reservoirs (the
Policy Position") in connection with the Reservoir Watershed
Management Program formed by NCTCOG in 1985; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the imple-
mentation of the Reservoir Watershed Management Program is
necessary for the protection of present and future municipal
water supplies and is therefore in the best interests of the
inhabitants of the City of Southlake and the community; and,
WHEREAS, in futherance of the Reservoir Watershed Management
Program the City Council desires to adopt the Policy Position
recommended by NCTCOG; now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. That all of the findings in the preamble are found
to be true and correct and the City Council does hereby incor-
porate siad findings into the body of this resolution as if
copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That by passage of this resolution, the City of
Southlake, Texas expresses its support for the Reservoir Water-
shed Management Program and adopts the Policy Position as recom-
mended by NCTCOG.
Section 3. That the City Manager is hereby directed and authoriz-
ed to send a copy of this resolution to the appropriate official
at NCTCOG.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
