1987-042RESOLUTION NO. 87-42 WHEREAS, it is essential for the Health, Welfare and Safety of the citizens of the City of Southlake, Texas, to have emergency services in Southlake; and, WHEREAS, in working with I.B.M., the City of Southlake was able to acquire an ambulance; and, WHEREAS, bids were taken as per State Bidding Law, and opened on April 22,1987 and presented to City Council; now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Approval was given to accept the low bid from Collins Ambulance in the amount of $77,218.00. Steele, Fire Chief SUBJECT: Recommendation - Bid Award (Ambulance) After my complete review and evaluation of both bids and intents with some exceptions to our specifications, I would like to list as follows the two ambulance companies submitting bids. Also, prices and equipment comparisons in some areas between the two companies. Collins' ambulance bid was turned in with no exceptions, all items in the bid as per our specifications. As listed price break down on Collins Ambulance: Ambulance Vehicle (Radios included in bid) $59,890.00 as per City Specifications - no exceptions) l Additional Surgical and Bio -Medical Equipment 16,228.00 Cellular Phone Installed 1,100.00 Total Price $77,218.00 First Responder Medical Inc. Ambulance: Ambulance Vehicle as per City specifications with three (3) exceptions found but not listed: A. Chassis 1. 138" wheelbase in lieu of 161" wheelbase 2. 10,500 G.V.W.R. in lieu of 11,000 G.V.W.R. B. Body 1. Latta, Jr. Page 2 April 27, 1987 In summary, with both types being built with good equipment and appearing to be of sound construction, my decision, based on better price, service, aluminum construction and the ability to meet our preferred delivery time and being the low bidder, is to recommend bid award to Collins Ambulance for vehicle and equipment as per City of Southlake specifications.
