1987-009RESOLUTION 87-9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, deems it to be in the best interest, health and welfare of its citizens to plan and develop city parks and park sites; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake desires to coordinate such planning and developing under a Parks and Recreation Commission and the Parks Liaison Officer; AND, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Southlake to have this Commission serve a one (1) year, two (2) year or a three (3) year term; from the first City Council meeting in February 1987 to the first City Council meeting in February 1988. THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: 1. A Parks and Recreation Commission was created for the purpose of Planning and Developing Parks and Park Sites within the City of Southlake for the use and benefit of its citizens. 2. The Parks and Recreation Commission shall, under the direction and approval of the Parks Liaison Officer, work with the City Director of Public Works as well as the Tarrant County Planning Division in planning and developing such parks. 3. Such commission shall meet if deemed necessary, on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Should any Commissioner miss three (3) consecutive meetings, his position shall be considered vacated. 4. The following are hereby appointed to fill unexpired terms or appointed to new terms to serve on the commission for a term, as indicated below: One Year Term: Two Year Terms: Betty Springer Randy Robertson Larry Goldstein Aloha Payne Tom Walker Debbie McGrath Three Year Terms: James Arnold Terry Mitchell Phillip Bressinck PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 20th Day Of JANUARY, 1987. LeGrand4n& City Secretary RESOLUTION 87-10 WHEREAS, All City Employees hired after March 31,1986 must contribute 1.450 of their wages to FICA II; and, WHEREAS, City of Southlake must contribute a like amount of 1.450; and, WHEREAS, The City of Southlake did not deduct FICA II contributions from employees' wages in 1986; now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: The City of Southlake should have deducted $1,455.92 from the wages of 19 employees during 1986. Of the 19 employees, one no longer is employed by the City. The City of Southlake owes the IRS a like amount of 1,455.92 and the City must pay the IRS $2,911.84 by February 2,1987 or incur a penalty for late payment. City funds in the amount of $3,437.37 will be required to match employees contributions for the remainder of FY1987. A total of $5,293.29 ($1,455.92+$3,837.37) must be included in the FY87 budget. A recommendation is made that the City forgive the employees in the amount of $1,455.92 for 1986 contri- butions not collected by the city during 1986.
