Item 4F Amendment to Fee Schedule Item 4F Good evening Mayor and members of the City Council. I am presenting Item 4F which is an amendment to the City’s fee schedule. 1 City Council approval of amendments to the fee schedule for rental rates and fees related to the use and operations of The Marq Southlake Phase 1. Requested Action In preparation for the opening of Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake, staff has been developing policies and procedures for the facility. With this item, we are seeking City Council approval of amendments to the current fee schedule to include rental rates and fees related to the use and operations of The Marq. 2 Phase 1 Amenities Events Hall Multipurpose Conference & Meeting Rooms Club Lounge Catering Kitchen Senior Center Outdoor Amphitheater Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake will include an events hall, multipurpose conference and meeting spaces, a club lounge, catering kitchen, senior center, an outdoor amphitheater and events space. These facilities will be available for use by citizens, businesses, corporations and civic groups through rental and event agreements.   3 Research Operational Analysis by Ballard, King & Assoc. Staff surveyed 14 wedding venues 13 non-profit/government venues 11 venues in adjacent communities 16 “BYOB” venues 10 wedding chapel venues 23 conference room venues While developing the proposed rental rates and fees for The Marq, staff spent a considerable amount of time researching similar facilities in the Metroplex to ensure that our proposed fees were competitive within the market. This included fourteen wedding venues, thirteen non-profit and government operated event venues, eleven event venues in adjacent cities, sixteen venues that allow guests to provide their own alcohol, ten venues that also provide a wedding chapel and twenty-three conference centers. In addition, staff has been working with Ballard, King and Associates on developing the operational analysis for The Marq Southlake, which provides a detailed look at the potential revenue and expenses for the entire facility. 4 Rental Rates * Friday, Saturday & Sunday rentals are flat rates and require a $1,000 deposit On the next few slides, I will go into more detail about the proposed rental rates and fees for Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake.
