A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS, CANVASSING THE ELECTION RETURNS AND DECLARING
ELECTION RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 9, 2015
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL, PLACE
2; AND FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE
VOTERS OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE DESIRE TO LEVY A SALES AND
USE TAX TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE CITY AND TO
FUND A COMMUNITY ENTERTAINMENT AND RECREATION CENTER AND
REDUCE THE SALES AND USE TAX FOR THE SOUTHLAKE CRIME
CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, there was a General Election held in the City of Southlake, Texas, on May
9, 2015, for the purpose of electing Mayor and City Council, Place 2; and,
WHEREAS, there was a Special Election held in the City of Southlake, Texas on May
9, 2015, to determine whether the voters of the City of Southlake desire to levy a sales and
use tax to promote economic development in the City and to fund a community entertainment
and recreation center and reduce the sales and use tax for the Southlake Crime Control and
Prevention District; and,
WHEREAS, there were a total of 4,570 ballots cast in Tarrant County and Denton
County as shown on the official election results hereto and lawfully submitted to the City
Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and,
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted in said election, and
said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of the
City of Southlake, Texas, on May 19, 2015, and showed the following results for Tarrant
County and Denton County combined:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The above canvass is and the same is hereby in all things approved, declaring
the following elected to office and the following proposition approved by the
voters:

Section. 2. Attached to this resolution are the cumulative reports from Tarrant County and
Denton County.
