1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairman Miriam Murray called the meeting of the Southlake Arts Council to
order at 6:00 p.m.
2. CONSENT AGENDA
Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine by the Southlake Arts
Council and are enacted with one motion.
2A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 4, 2015 SOUTHLAKE

3. CONSIDER
3A. RECOMMENDATION ON REVISED MURALS FOR BXS RESTAURANT &
BREWHOUSE
Deputy Director Candice Edmondson presented the revised concepts for the two
murals for BJ's Restaurant at East Southlake Blvd and North Kimball Avenue.
The murals are proposed for the front entry elevation and the rear elevation and
depict agricultural and Texas scenes.
City of Southlake Principal Planner Daniel Cortez and BJ's Restaurant &
Brewhouse representative Joan Leguay were present to respond to questions
and to receive the Art Council's feedback on the proposed murals.
Arts Council member Christina Esparza arrived 6:16 p.m.
APPROVED
A motion was made to recommend approval of the revised murals for BJ's
Restaurant & Brewhouse with the recommendation that the beverage glasses be
removed from the mural scenes.

4. DISCUSSION
4A. THE MARQ SOUTHLAKE, PHASE I OPERATIONS UPDATE
Deputy Director Candice Edmondson opened the discussion by playing the
marketing video for The Marq Southlake. Proposed rental fees, alcohol and
catering services and hours of operation for the facility were reviewed. Staff was
available to answer questions from the Arts Council.
Arts Council Secretary Jesika Cook left the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

4B. FUTURE PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITIES
The Arts Council discussed the Fall Art Exhibit, a potential Holiday Exhibit, and
an APEX and Arts Council event at The Marq Southlake. In addition to these
events, the Arts Council discussed a possible summer art exhibit, perhaps in
conjunction with the City of Keller, and a Film Festival.
The Arts Council would like to receive information about upcoming community
and arts events.
5. PUBLIC FORUM
No one was present to address the Arts Council during Public Forum.
