Item 4D FUA with the Miracle League of Southlake Item 4D Honorable Mayor and Council members, Item 4D is presented for City Council’s consideration of a Facilities Utilization Agreement with the Miracle League of Southlake. 1 Requested Action City Council approval of: Facilities Utilization Agreement with the Miracle League of Southlake Staff is seeking City Council approval of the facilities utilization agreement (FUA) with the Miracle League of Southlake. 2 Staff is seeking City Council approval of the facilities utilization agreement (FUA) with the Miracle League of Southlake. 3 Staff is seeking City Council approval of the facilities utilization agreement (FUA) with the Miracle League of Southlake. 4 Background Information City coordinates with Southlake youth athletic associations to provide programs for residents Use of City fields authorized through FUA Separate agreement with each association The City coordinates with various youth sports associations to offer a variety of athletic programs through facilities utilization agreements. The agreements are held with each youth athletic organization participating in the use of City-owned fields and facilities. 5 2-Year Term (Sept 2015 – Dec 2017) Texas Rangers Miracle League Field at Bicentennial Park No Field Maintenance Fees (City Council waived fees April 16, 2013) Proposed FUA with MLS Miracle Field The proposed Facilities Utilization Agreement with Miracle League of Southlake (MLS) is the standard agreement used with the other athletic associations, with the exception to required maintenance fees. The FUA w/Miracle League of Southlake includes: Term: Two (2) year; September 1, 2015 through December 31, 2017 Field Use: Texas Rangers Miracle League Field in Bicentennial Park Fees: City Council approved April 16, 2013 to waive the City’s field maintenance fees for MLS since participants will not be charged registration fees. 6 City of Southlake Strategy Map Critical Business Outcomes CBO1 - Continue to implement Southlake 2030 Plan by focusing on short-term initiatives.
