Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada recently presented the City of Southlake with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for our FY2015
Budget.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving nearly 18,000 government finance professionals throughout North America.
The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation
Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
Significant achievement.
7th year in a row that the City has received this award.
Reflects the commitment
of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
In order to receive the award, the City had to satisfy nationally-recognized guidelines
for effective budget presentation.
These guidelines assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications
device.

It is clear that the purpose of this budget is not only to communicate the financial plan to the citizens, but to also communicate a high level of accountability and planning for the
community.
Overall, a very inviting document and includes great community information.
The City received outstanding reviews for the FY2015 Budget.
