A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT
FOR ABOVE - GROUND CISTERNS ON NON - RESIDENTIAL
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS,
LOCATED AT 925 S. KIMBALL AVENUE, BEING DESCRIBED
AS LOT 2 -R -2, GREEN MEADOW SUBDIVISION, AN ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS
MORE FULLY AND COMPLETELY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT
"A ", AND AS DEPICTED ON THE APPROVED SITE EXHIBIT
ATTACHED HERETO AND INCORPORATED HEREIN AS
EXHIBIT "B" AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a Specific Use Permit for a solar energy system on non - residential
property has been requested by a person or corporation having a proprietary interest in the
property zoned as "I -1" Light Industrial District; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Sections 45.1(47) of the City's
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City
Council have given the requisite notices by publication and otherwise, and have afforded the
persons interested and situated in the affected area and in the vicinity thereof; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council does hereby find and determine that the granting of such
Specific Use Permit is in the best interest of the public health, safety, morals and general
welfare of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
A Specific Use Permit is hereby granted for a carport on non - residential property and a
solar energy system on non - residential property located at 925 S. Kimball Avenue, being
described as Lot 2 -R -2 Green Meadow Subdivision, an addition to the City of Southlake,
Tarrant County, Texas, according to the plat recorded in Cabinet `A', Slide 9084, Plat
Records, Tarrant County, Texas, more fully and completely described in Exhibit "A ", and as
depicted on the approved Site Exhibit attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "B"
and providing an effective date, subject to the provisions contained in the comprehensive
zoning ordinance and the restrictions set forth herein. The following specific requirements
and special conditions shall be applicable to the granting of this Specific Use Permit:
1. Subject to the use of the Australian product as shown tonight approving the
cisterns with a height at the top of the barrel to be ten feet and a height at the peak
of the cistern to be 12 feet;
2. Requiring the cisterns to be clad around the entire circumference with stone to
match the building at a bench height which would be wide enough to accommodate
individuals sitting on the stone wall;
3. Granting variances to screening and location waiving the screening requirement
from public rights -of -way and waiving the requirement of the cistern location from
side or rear of the principal structure.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective on the date of approval by the City Council.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 3 DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2015.

Dear Mr. Kil lough:
Please fmd attached a Specific Use Permit Application to request the use of a rainwater harvesting system for
the proposed new development known at Stadium Southwest located at 925 S. Kimball, Southlake, TX
76092.
Our desire to install the rainwater harvesting system is consistent with the City of Southlake's desire to
conserve one of North Texas' most valuable resources, water. The City's Water Conservation Master Plan,
which was adopted by ordinance in 2013, speaks of conservation measures of which this is one. Additionally,
the City has a web page dedicated to the conservation of water and its increasing importance due to the rapid
growth of the entire region. We believe this to be truly a groundbreaking project to show the City and the
region the benefits of utilizing rainwater for irrigation. While not 100 percent self - sustaining, our engineering
consultant has shown that we can potentially conserve several hundred thousand gallons of water per year
with our proposed system.
The system will require the installation of two cistern structures which we have proudly designed into the
architectural design of our buildings. Additionally, we have provided the technical design of the system and
an architectural rendering of the cisterns as well for your review.
We look forward to presenting any additional details required for the Specific Use Permit approval and are
available to answer any questions that may be asked regarding this project.
