CITY COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor John Terrell, Mayor Pro Tern Laura Hill, Deputy

1. CALL TO ORDER
The Work Session was called to order by Mayor Terrell at 5:34 p.m.
2. INVOCATION
Drew Johnson gave the invocation. Mayor Terrell led the pledge of allegiance to the
United States and Texas Flags.
3. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE UPDATE
Mayor Terrell introduced Southlake Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Ian
MacLean. Mr. MacLean gave a brief update on Chamber activities.

Mayor Terrell announced that the Southlake Hilton recently earned a first place ranking
of all of the Hilton hotels in the Americas in their Brand Scorecard Ranking. The Brand
Scorecard Index is the average score of Brand Advocacy, Brand Promise and Brand
Pillars. General Manager Mike Hutchison was called forward and recognized for his
excellence in the overall customer experience in areas such as rooms, food, respect,
caring, and meeting the needs of the customers.
5. REVIEW OF THE FY 2015 RECOMMENDED WAYFINDING SIGNAGE/KIOSK
PROGRAM PRIORITY LOCATION LISTS.
Senior Director of Planning and Development Services Ken Baker presented the
recommended wayfinding signage/kiosk program priority location lists and answered
questions from Council.
6. DISCUSS ALL ITEMS ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA. NO ACTION WILL BE
TAKEN AND EACH ITEM WILL BE CONSIDERED DURING THE REGULAR

REGULAR SESSION:
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Session of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Terrell at 6.10
p.m.
2A. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mayor Terrell announced that City Council would be going into Executive Session
pursuant to the Texas Government Code, Section 551.071, consultation with city
attorney, Section 551.072, deliberation regarding real property, and Section 551.087,
deliberation regarding economic development negotiations. City Council adjourned for
Executive Session at 6.10 p.m. Executive Session began at 6.27 p.m. and concluded at
7.53 p.m.
2B. RECONVENE
Mayor Terrell reconvened the meeting at 8.02 p.m. Mayor Terrell asked if any action
was necessary from Executive Session. There was no action necessary as a result of
Executive Session.
Mayor Terrell recognized two Boy Scouts who were in attendance at the meeting,
Conner Patterson and Max Hirshman.

3131. STRATEGIC PRIORITY UPDATE
City Manager Shana Yelverton gave a brief update on the recent leaf recycling program
in which there were 305.5 tons of leaves recycled and reported on 76 new businesses
coming to the city in FY2014.

Civil Engineer for the applicant, Vaughn Lucker, also addressed Council's questions.
Mayor Terrell opened the public hearing and asked for anyone wishing to speak on the

Brian Stacy spoke on behalf of his father, Randy Stacy, 300 North Shady Oaks Drive,
Southlake, Texas stated they are in agreement with one acre zoning but have concerns
about the current plan.
Sherry Berman, 818 Parkdale Drive, Southlake, Texas addressed concerns about
traffic.
Rick Stacy, 1000 West Southlake Boulevard, Southlake, Texas spoke in support of one
acre zoning but was not in support of this current plan.
Scott Meeks, 308 Blanco Circle, Southlake, Texas spoke in support of this proposal.
Frances Scharli, 302 Timberlake Drive, Southlake, Texas spoke in support of this
proposal and disagreed with the traffic report.
Mayor Terrell closed the public hearing.
A motion was made to approve Ordinance No. 480-685 (ZA14-111), 2nd Reading,
Zoning Change and Concept Plan for Glenmore subject to the Staff Report and the
Concept Plan Review Summary dated January 14, 2015; granting the cul-de-sac
variance and granting full access on FM 1709; acknowledging the applicant's
willingness to increase the length of the entry walls and to set them back an additional
ten feet into the existing lots and adding landscape as presented this evening; replacing
the desert willows and chaste trees as shown on FM 1709 with Nellie R. Stevens; and
accepting the proposed fencing plan as presented this evening.
