UPON CERTAIN ST~IEETS ~ND HIGHWAYS, OX PAR'£S T~EREOF,
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SOUTHIAKE
AS SET OUT IN THE ORDINANCE: AND PROVIDING A PENALTY
OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEgD $200.00 FOR VIOLATION OF THIS
ORDINANCE.
W~BREAS, Section 16~ and 169 of Article XIX, R.C.$. 6701d,
Uniform Act Regulating Yraffic on Highways, provides that whenever the
governing body of the City shall de~ermine upon the basis of an
engineering'and traffic investigation that any prima facie speed there-
in set forth is greater or less than is reasonable or safe under the
conditions found to exist at any intersection or other place or opon
any part of a street or highway, with the City taking into considera-
tion the width and condition of the pavement and o~her circumstances
on such portion of said stree~ or highway, as well as the usual traffic
thereon, ~aid govern body may de:ermine and declare a reasonable and
safe prima facie speed limit thereat or thereon by the passage of an
ordinance, which shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice
thereof are erected at such intersection or other place or part of the
stree~ or highway, now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Southlake' , Texas:
Section 1. Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investig=tion
heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Section 167 and 169
of Article XIX, R.C.S. 6701d, Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways,
the following prima facie speed limits hereafter indicated for vehicles
are hereby determined and declared to be reasonable and safe; and such
speed limits are hereby fixed at the ra~e of speed indicated for vehicles
traveling upon the named streets and highways, or parts thereof, described
as follows:

Southeast Bound Lane Only:
(a) From Station 110+06 (0.503 mile southeast of Northwest City Limits
of Southlake) southeasterly 3.085 miles to Station 273+00 at 60
miles per hour.
(b)
From Station 273+00 southeasterly 1.349 miles to Station 344+23
(Southeast City Limits of Southlake, being also the City Limits
of Grapevine on Southeast Bound Lane) at 55 miles per hour.
Northwest Bound Lane Only:
(a) From 342+94 (Southeast City Limits of Wouthlake, being also the
City Limits of Grapevine on Northwest ~Bound Lane) northwesrorly
1.342 miles to Station 273+00 at 55 miles per hour.
From Station 273+00 northwesterly 3.085 miles to Station 110+06
(0.543 mile southeast of Northwest City Limits of Southlake) at
60 miles per hour.
School Zone:
(a) From Station 209+50 southeast 0.284 mile crossing Carroll School
Road to Station 224+50 at 45 miles per hour when so signed for
school crossing, 60 miles per hour all other times.
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be fined in any sum not more than two hundred ($200) dollars.
