Yelverton, City Manager 4J-1 From: Chris Tribble, Director of Community Services Subject: Approve the purchase of Musco Light -Structure Green TM sports field lighting system from Musco Lighting in the amount of $218,300 for the Bicentennial Park Field #9 Action Requested: Approve the purchase and installation of new sports field lights for Field #9 at Bicentennial Park in the amount of $218,300. Background Information: As part of the Bicentennial Park Phase 2 project, the original wooden pole field lighting on Field #9 was removed. The purpose of this item is to purchase and install a new Musco Light -Structure TM sports field lighting system. The new pre- cast concrete bases, galvanized steel poles and remote component enclosures will allow City staff to control the lights off -site and reduce the spill and glare of the field lighting by 50%. The new state-of-the-art lighting will match the other lighting systems within Bicentennial Park. Financial Consideration: Funding for this item in the amount of $215,000 was approved within the FY 2015 SPDC CIP and Capital Budget as part of the Bicentennial Park Phase 2 Improvements. The current quote for the purchase and installation is $3,300 more than was budgeted. The difference will be absorbed within the overall project budget due to project savings. We will expect payment within the terms described above unless there is a written statement from Musco's corporate headquarters stating the acceptance of different terms. • Delivery to the job_ site from the time of order, submittal approval, and confirmation of order details including voltage and phase, pole locations is approximately 30-45 days. Due to the built-in custom light control per luminaire, pole locations need to be confirmed prior to production. Changes to pole locations after the product is sent to production could result in additional charges.
