1. CALL TO ORDER
SYAC staff liaison Ashley Newhart called the meeting of the Southlake Youth
Action Commission to order at 4:08 p.m.
2. DISCUSSION
2A. SIGN -IN, APPLICATION, WELCOME PACKET, BYLAWS AND CALENDAR
SYAC members discussed the bylaws, expectations, calendar and welcome
packet.
2B. NOMINATE SYAC OFFICERS: CHAIR, VICE CHAIR, SECRETARY, HIGH
SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE AND MIDDLE SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE
Meeting attendees nominated SYAC officers. SYAC will consider election of
officers at the next meeting.
2C. SERVICE PROJECTS: ADOPT -A- STREET AND NOMINATE IDEAS
SYAC members discussed Adopt -A- Street and other possible community
service projects such as Home for the Holidays and Easter in the Park. These
projects will be revisited at the October 1, 2014 SYAC meeting.

Attendees discussed ideas for a new SYAC shirt and will revisit that topic at
the September 17, 2014 SYAC meeting.
2D. SYAC GOALS & OBJECTIVES FOR 2014 -2015
SYAC members discussed the objectives and accomplishments for the 2014-
15 year and will continue further discussion of the topic at the September 17,
2014 meeting.
3. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by SYAC liaison Ashley Newhart and was unanimously
approved to adjourn the meeting at 5:05 p.m.
