CALL TO ORDER Chair Bartlett called the meeting of the Southlake Arts Council to order at 6:02 p.m. 2. CONSENT AGENDA Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine by the Southlake Arts Council and are enacted with one motion. Chair Bartlett read the consent agenda item for the record. 2A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 10, 2014 SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL MEETING There were no corrections to the minutes APPROVED A motion was made to approve the minutes from the last meeting as read. Motion: McMillan Second: Murray and Lamberto Ayes: Alvarez, Bartlett, Cook, Esparza, Ingraham, McMillan, Messing, Murray Nays: None Abstain: None Vote: 8 -0 Motion Carried. CONSIDER There were no items to consider at this meeting. 4. DISCUSSION 4A. ART SHOW RECEPTION AND EXHIBIT SEPTEMBER 7, 2014 Director Tribble presented this item. The Southlake Arts Council discussed preparations for the September 7, 2014 Art Show reception and exhibit that will feature artwork by Lamberto Alvarez and highlight the Miracle League of Southlake program. The theme "Celebration of Sport and Arts" was discussed. A suggestion was made to have a monitor set up with rolling presentations about the community recreation center and the Miracle League of Southlake program. Committee members provided updates on the status of graphics (Jesika Cook); artwork (Lamberto Alvarez); food and decorations (Tamara McMillan, Merlene Ingraham, Miriam Murray); activities (Terri Messing, Christina Esparza, Leslie Bartlett); and entertainment (Terri Messing). 4B. FUTURE PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITIES This item was not discussed. 5. PUBLIC FORUM Boy Scout Lyle Paul was introduced. Mr. Paul was present to observe the Arts Council meeting as part of the requirements to earn a merit badge. 6. ADJOURNMENT APPROVED A motion was made by Jesika Cook, seconded by Tamara McMillan, and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:02 p.m. !
