1989-014 ResolutionResolution A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF $OUTHLAKE, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE RE-NAMING OF STATE HIGHWAY 114 THE GIBSON D. LEWIS PARKWAY AND REQUESTING THE TEXAS DEPARTMNENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO ACCOMPLISH SAME. WHEREAS, the CITY OF SOUTHLAKE and 89th District of the Texas House of Representatives has been well and truly represented by the Hon. Gibson D. Lewis since 197t; and, WHEREAS, the goals and objectives of Hon. Gibson D. Lewis compliment and coincide with the goals and objectives of the City of Southlake; and, WHEREAS, the City of Southlake desires to honor Mr. Lewis upon his election to a unprecedented fourth consecutive term as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: That the City Manager of the City of Southtake is hereby instructed to contact the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation and express our desire to re-name State Highway 114 the Gibson D. Lewis Parkway PASSED, APPROVED and SIGNED this 21 day of February 1989 at Southlake, Texas.
