CASE NO: SV14 -008
PROJECT: Sign Variance for Kimball Lakes Office Park
EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY: Vision Southlake LLC is requesting a variance to the Sign Ordinance No. 704 -F
requirements for maximum height of a monument sign located at 584 N. Kimball
Avenue, Southlake, Texas.
DETAILS: Vision Southlake LLC is requesting approval of a monument sign that exceeds
maximum allowed height. The maximum allowed height at this location is 6 feet 6
inches. The original monument sign design was enhanced during the construction
process to include a "hump" at the top instead of a straight flat plane in an effort to
match an adjacent property monument sign (Estancia). The addition of the "hump"
added approximately 19 inches to the overall height. The sign also displays four
(4) slots under each address number which could accommodate up to twenty -four
(24) total sign panels. The ordinance allows a maximum of six (6) panels. The
applicant is requesting to keep the newly built sign in its current state.
The specific variance requested is as follows:
Si • n Re • ulation Permitted Re • uested
Maximum Height for a monument
sign located on Kimball Avenue 6 feet 6 inches 8 feet 1 inch
(all other streets)
Maximum number of panels 6 Up to 24
