1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Bartlett called the meeting of the Southlake Arts Council to order at 7:01
p.m.
2. CONSENT AGENDA
Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine by the Southlake Arts
Council and are enacted with one motion. Chair Bartlett read the consent agenda
item for the record.
2A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 25, 2014 REGULAR
SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL MEETING.
There were no corrections to the minutes.

A motion was made to approve the minutes from the March 25, 2014 Southlake
Arts Council meeting.

3. CONSIDER
3A. RECOMMENDATION ON PERMIT TO ALLOW AN ART GALLERY
RECEPTION ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2014 AND AN ART EXHIBIT SEPTEMBER
7, 2014 — OCTOBER 17, 2014 IN THE TOWN HALL LOBBY
Deputy Director Edmondson presented the permit for the September 2014 Texas
Rangers Baseball reception and exhibit and responded to questions. The item
was discussed by the Arts Council.
Southlake Arts Council member Alvarez submitted a Conflict of Interest form for
this item to the Office of the City Secretary and recused himself from this
discussion.
Doreen Chanay and Arts Council member Lamberto Alvarez were present in
support of the art exhibit request and to respond to questions.
APPROVED
A motion was made to recommend approval of the permit for the art gallery
reception and exhibit in September 2014 in Town Hall lobby.

3B. RECOMMENDATION ON PERMIT TO ALLOW AN ART GALLERY
RECEPTION FEBRUARY 22, 2015 AND AN ART EXHIBIT FEBRUARY 22 —
APRIL 26, 2015 IN THE TOWN HALL LOBBY
Deputy Director Edmondson presented the permit for the February 2015 Strokes
of Art in the Square reception and exhibit and responded to questions. The item
was discussed by the Arts Council. The Council agreed to increase the cost for
the reception to $2,500.

A motion was made to recommend approval of the permit for the Strokes of Art in
the Square art gallery reception and exhibit in February 2015 in Town Hall lobby.

SQUARE FESTIVAL
Deputy Director Edmondson presented the permit for the CISD art exhibit April
24 -26, 2015 and responded to questions. The item was discussed by the Arts
Council.
APPROVED
A motion was made to recommend approval of the permit for the CISD exhibit
April 24 -26, 2015 in Town Hall lobby in conjunction with the Art in the Square
festival.

4. DISCUSSION
4A. PRESENTATION FROM DREAM BIG SCULPTURE
Deputy Director Edmondson introduced Lorri Acott and Adam Schultz,
representatives from Dream Big Sculpture. Dream Big Sculptures gave a
presentation about their company that places sculpture pieces of different styles,
subjects and sizes all over the country.
Arts Council member Messing left the meeting at 7:35 p.m.
4B. FUTURE PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITIES
Deputy Director Edmondson presented this item for discussion.
