Property Situation The property is located at 1201 E. SH 114. Development Details: Need to modify and elongate 2 canopy structures on the east façade to accommodate a 10,000 sf Elite Care Emergency Center, licensed by the State of Texas State requirements for emergency centers for a drop off canopy (for patients in inclement weather) and an ambulance dock with canopy (required to load patients on ambulances to transport to a hospital) . Additional requirements for a screened emergency generator (similar to a commercial trash enclosure) QUESTIONS / CONCERNS What does the canopy look like? The canopies will be brick and metal to match the proposed architectural style of the building. The canopies will be located on the east side of the building (interior parking lot). What are Elite Care Emergency Centers and where are they located in Texas? The centers are full emergency care facilities without in patient care. They are located in 6 areas in Texas; 2 in Houston, 2 in San Antonio (1 year and 1 1/2 years, and 2 in Coppell and The Colony (6 months   and 1 year). What are the hours for the facility? It is an emergency facility open 24 hours/ 7 days a week. Providing all care found in hospital emergency rooms without in patient care. Serve 15-20 patients on an average day usually afternoon and evenings. No trauma cases. Walk-in care. Patients may be transported to hospitals for in care treatment. Why is this facility being presented when the City Council approved the project with restaurants and boutiques? Christy Hammonds: we tried to get the restaurants, but were unable. There is no change in the zoning on this project. This is an approved use for the zoning. We are seeking approval for the expanded canopies and generator. Why in this location? Research by the Elite Emergency Care Center company showed that there is a need for this type of facility. This facility is an upscale emergency room typically located in upscale communities. Will ambulances be transporting patients to this facility? The majority of the ambulances will be transporting patients to in-patient hospital from this facility and there might be some deliveries to the facility, if the patient requests to be taken to this center.
