1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Bartlett called the meeting of the Southlake Arts Council to order at 6:07
p.m.
2. CONSENT AGENDA
Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine by the Southlake Arts
Council and are enacted with one motion. Chair Bartlett read the consent agenda
item for the record.
2A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE DECEMBER 10, 2013 REGULAR
SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL MEETING.
There were no corrections to the minutes.

A motion was made to approve the minutes from the December 10, 2013
Southlake Arts Council meeting as read.

3. CONSIDER
3A. RECOMMENDATION ON PERMIT FOR CISD ART EXHIBIT IN TOWN HALL
APRIL 25 -27, 2014
Deputy Director Edmondson presented the permit for CISD student art exhibit to
be displayed in Town Hall in conjunction with Art in the Square, April 25 -27,
2014, for a recommendation to City Council. This year's exhibit will be the fourth
such annual exhibit. The CISD art exhibit permit meets the provisions of the
Public Art Display and /or Performance Policy. City Council will consider approval
of the permit at their February 4, 2014 meeting. The Arts Council discussed the
exhibit.

A motion was made to recommend approval of the permit for CISD art exhibit in
Town Hall April 25 -27, 2014.

Southlake Arts Council member Merlene Ingraham arrived at meeting.
4. DISCUSSION
4A. 2 ANNUAL "STROKES OF ART IN THE SQUARE" RECEPTION
Terri Messing led the discussion and clarified this year's event will be the fifth
such event. Preparations and assignments for the reception to be held Sunday,
February 23, 2014 in Town Hall lobby were discussed.
4B. DPS NORTH ARTWORK UPDATE
Deputy Director Edmondson presented an update on the DPS North Training
Facility grand opening held January 14, 2014 and installation of the mural and
sculptures at the facility.

4C. COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER UPDATE
Deputy Director Edmondson updated the Arts Council on the progress of the
Community Recreation Center schematic design. Continual updates on the
project will also be available at www.SouthlakeCRC.com.
Southlake Arts Council member Terri Messing left the meeting at this time.
4D. FUTURE PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITIES
Deputy Director Edmondson presented this item for discussion. The Arts Council
discussed possible opportunities including information about a "Waterfire"
pageant. The Arts Council is also interested in possible Facebook or other social
media presence, which staff will investigate.
Members were invited to attend Geppetto's event February 16 at 3:00 p.m. at
White's Chapel United Methodist Church and the 6 Annual Jazz Festival March
1 at 7:00 p.m., also at the church.
5. PUBLIC FORUM
No one was present to speak at Public Forum.
