ORDINANCE NO. 355
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING ADMINISTRATION
DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY, PURSUANT TO THE HOME
RULE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE:
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE UPON PASSAGE
AND APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, a Home Rule Charter was approved by the voters in a duly
called charter election April 4, 1987; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines, that the new Home
Rule Charter is needed, feasible and in the best interest of the
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. That all the findings in the preamble are found to be
true and correct and the City Council does hereby incorporate said
findings into the body of this Ordinance as if copied in their
entirety.
Section 2. That effective immediately, the City Council hereby
establishes the administrative departments of Public Works, Fire,
Police and Administration pursuant of Section 4.01 of the Home Rule
Charter of the City of Southlake, Texas with the establishment of
William LeGrand, Director of Public Works; R. P. Steele, Fire
Chief; Jerry Crowder, Police Chief; and Lloyd 0. Latta, Jr.,
Administration, as recommended by Lloyd 0. Latta, Jr., City Manager.
Section 3. That this Ordinance be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
