AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS,
ABANDONING A PORTION OF OAK KNOLLS DRIVE WHICH
IS NO LONGER NEEDED OR NECESSARY FOR PUBLIC
STREET PURPOSES; PROVIDING THAT SUCH
ABANDONMENT SHALL BE IN FAVOR OF THE OWNER OF
THE ABUTTING PROPERTIES; PROVIDING THAT SUCH
ABANDONMENT SHALL BE INSOFAR AS APPLICABLE TO
THE PUBLIC RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST IN SUCH
ROADWAY FOR STREET PURPOSES ONLY; PROVIDING
THAT SUCH ABANDONMENT SHBLL NOT IN ANY WAY
AFFECT THE RIGHT OF ANY PUBLIC UTILITY LOCATED
IN SUCH ROADWAY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, a portion of Oak Knolls Drive is no longer
needed or necessary for public street purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City has concluded that it is the best
interest of the citizens and taxpayers of the City of Southlake
and promotes the public safety, health, morals and general
welfare to abandon a portion of Oak Knolls Drive; and
WHEREAS, the City does find that the hereinafter
described portion of Oak Knolls Drive is no longer needed for
street right-of-way purposes and should be abandoned in order
to relieve the City of the obligation and necessity of
maintaining same for street purposes. ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble are
found to be true and correct, and are incorporated into the
body of this Ordinance as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the hereinafter described portion of
Oak Knolls Drive within the limits of the City of Southlake,
Texas, be, and the same is, hereby abandoned as a public street
or thoroughfare insofar as the right, title and interest of the
public in said street is concerned. That portion of Oak Knolls
Drive being abandoned as a public street is described as
follows, to-wit:
Ail of that lot, tract, and/or parcel of land
described in Exhibit "A" which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein.
Section 3. That the above described portion of Oak
Knolls Drive is abandoned in favor of the abutting property
owners.
Section 4. That the abandonment provided for herein
shall extend only to the public right, title and interest in
and to the public street hereinafter described and shall be
construed to extend only to the interests that the governing
body of the City of Southlake may legally and lawfully abandon
in said public street or public street purposes only.
Section 5. This abandonment Ordinance shall constitute
a quitclaim deed in favor of the owners of the abutting
properties, and a certified copy of the same may be filed for
record in the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, to
indicate such abandonment of the street right-of-way for street
purposes only. The City Administrator is also authorized to
execute quitclaim deeds if requested by abutting owners to
future evidence such vacation.
Section 6. The fact that a portion of Oak Knolls Drive
is no longer needed or necessary for public street purposes,
and that said portion of Oak Knolls Drive should be abandoned
so that the City will not have the responsibility of
maintaining the same as a public street or thoroughfare,
creates an urgency and an emergency in the preservation of the
public health, safety and welfare, and requires that this
Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage, as the law in such cases provides, and it is
accordingly ordained.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Southlake,
Texas, on this the 31st day of March, 1987.

Being a tract of land in the T. Easter Survey, Abstract No. 458, situated
approximately 17 miles north 46 degrees east form the Court House in Tarrant
County, Texas, and being a portion of Oak Knolls Drive, as it appears upon the
plat of OAK KNOLLS LAKE¥IEW ADDITION to the City of Grapevine, and recorded in
volume 388-W, page 51 of the Tarrant County Deed Records and being more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an iron pin at the northwest corner of Lot 15 and the northeast
corner of Lot 14, Block E in said OAK KNOLLS LAKEVIEW ADDITION, in the
southerly line of saio OaK Knolls Drive;
THENCE;
south 71 degrees 45 minutes 19 seconds east, along the said southerly
line of Oak Knolls Drive and the north line of said Lot 15, at
140-8/10 feet, pass an iron pin found for the northeast corner of said
Lot 15 and the northwest corner of Lot 16 in said Block E, and
continuing in all for a total distance of 204-74/100 feet to an iron
pin for corner in the said southerly line of OaK Knolls Drive and the
north line of said Lot 16, on a curve to the right with a radius of
fifty feet (50');

along said southerly line of OaK Knolls Drive and said north line of
Lot 16, with said curve to the right, in a southeasterly direction, an
arc distance of 21-36/100 feet to an iron pin found for corner in the

(50'), the long chore of said curve to the right bears south 50
