AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING ~HE STANDARD ~CHANICAL CODE,
1976 EDITION AS A~DED, AS 9~E "STANDARD ~f~ANICAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS";PRESCRIBING
STANDARDS FOR THE INSTALLATICN, ALTERATION, AND/OR
RE~AIRS OF MECHANICAL SYSTEMS; RDQUIRING A PERMIT AND
INSPECTION THERDFOR; P~VID]/~G FOR AE~4INIST~ATION ~

~/qe Standard Mechanical Code, 1976 Editicn, copyrighted by Southern Building
Cede Congress International,Inc., consisting of pages 11 throug~ 109 and amendments
to the Standard Mechanical Code being the 1977 and 1978 revisions to the 1976
edition, consisting of 33 pages, except as specifically modified by this ordinance,
is hereby adopted as the "Standard Mechanical Code of the City of Southlakev Texas".
SECTIC~ 2- CT~4ULATIVE OF OTHER ORDINANCES: ~nis ordinance shall be and is hereby
declared cumulative of the provisions of other applicable ordinances of the City
of Southlake,Texas including all a~endments thereto. It is provided,he,Never, that
a hi~ner standard provided by other lawfully adopted r~le, regulatic~, resolution,
ordinance, private deed restriction or private covenant, shall not be considered
an irreconcilable conflict with this ordinance, and the higher standard, in the
event of conflict, shall gc~ern.
SEOTICN 3- PENALTY FOR VIOLATION: Section 109 of the said Standard Mechanical Code,
1976 editicn as a~ended and described above, is hereby deleted and in lieu thereof
the following shall apply:
"Any person, firm, association of persons, cc~oany, or corporation, or their agents,
servants, or employees who violate, disobey, ~mit, neglect or refuse to cc~ply with
any previsions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class C misder~anor and may be
fined not less than $1.00 nor more than $200.00 for each offense. Each day that a
violation exists is hereby declared to be a distinct and separate offense and
punishable by law."
