~REAS, %3~e Citz; Cotmcil of the City of Southlake, Texas deems it
necessary and Ln the public interest, and for the purpose of prc~oting and
safeguarding the public health, safety, ccmfort and general welfare of its
citizens to adopt the latest nationally recognized pltm~oing code; and,
~ .REAS, the City Co~ncil, after receiving advice from its administrative
officials, dee~s the above mentioned code as amended to be the basis for this
ordinance;
NOW ~{EREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
The Standard Plumbing Code, 1975 Edltic~, copyrighted by Southern Building Code
Congress International, Inc., consisting of Sections 101 through 1603.1 including
appendLx A through E, Tables E-1 through E-3, 4 pages of conversic~ tables,
illustration drawings Numbers 1 through 12, a~d amen~r~nts to tile Standard Plumbing
Code being the 1976-77 and 1978 revisions to the 1975 edition, except as specifically
modified by this ordinance is hereby adopted as the "Plumbing Code of the City of
South lake, Texas".
SECFION 3- CUMULATIVE OF O~ER ORDINANCES: Except as to Ordinance 225 which is
hereby repealed, this ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to be cumulative
of tJ]e provisicns of other applicable ordinances of the City of Southlake, Texas
provided hcwever, that a higher standard provided by any other lawfully adopted
rule, regulation, resolution, ordinance, private deed restriction or prixrate
co~]ant, shall not be considered an irreconcilable conflict with this ordinance,
and tJ]e higher standard, in the event of conflict, shall go~rn.
SECTION 4- P~ALTY VOR VIOLATION: Any perscn, firm, association of persons,
company, or corporation, or their agents, servants, or employees who violate,
disobey, omit, neglect or refuse to comply with any provisions of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor and may be fined not less than $1.00 nor
more than $200.00 for each offense. Each day that a violaticn exists is hereby
declared to be a distinct and separate offense and p~ishable by law.

SECTION 5- EYFECTIVE DATE: The City Secretary of the City of Southlake,
Texas is hereby directed to publish this amendment under the applicable
laws but may publish only the caption and penalty clause thereof and this
said Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after the date of passage and publication as provided by law.
