ORDINANCE NO. 129
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME
A PART OF SAID TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND
INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL
THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN,
AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW
IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER
PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL
BOUNDARIES OF SAID TOWN AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED
AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953,
53rd Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article
974-6, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, Gerald Hunt and
wife, Mary Hunt, owners of the real property hereinafter
described having made application as by law provided to the
Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Southlake, Texas,
for annexation of a tract of land consisting of 10 acres of
land situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being out of the
J. G. ALLEN SURVEY, Abstract No. 18, and being a portion of
a certain 90 acre tract conveyed to J. B. Bearden by deed
recorded in Volume 1545, page 183, of the Deed Records of Tarrant
County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron rod in the East line of the said
Bearden 90 Acre tract, said point being 950 varas East
and 428.96 varas North of the Southwest corner of the
J. G. ALLEN SURVEY:
THENCE west and parallel to the South line of the J. G.
ALLEN SURVEY, 300.0 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE North 1440.8 feet to an iron rod for corner in
the South R.O.W. line of State F.M. Highway No. 1709;
THENCE North 86 degrees 31 minutes East 100.3 feet with
the South R.O.W. line of said Highway to an iron rod;
THENCE North 81 degrees 05 minutes East 125.6 feet with
the South R.O.W. line of said Highway to an iron rod;
THENCE North 89 degrees 51 minutes East 75.5 feet with
the South R.O.W. line of said Highway to an iron rod
for corner in the East line of said Bearden 90 Acre tract;
THENCE South with the East line of said Bearden 90Acre
tract, 1466.5 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, and
containing 10.0 acres.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the
Town of Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A";
and
WHEREAS, it appearing to the Town Council; of the Town of
Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection
with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the
above described area is not more than;l/2 ;mike in width, that
not more than three qualified voters reside thereon, and that
the same is adjacent to the present City limits of the Town of
Southlake, Texas;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
1.
THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent, and
contiguous to the Town Limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is
hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said
Town and is hereby made an integral part thereof.
2.
THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed
be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens
and property owners of said Town and be bound by all of the acts
and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force
and effect and that which may be hereafter adopted.
3.
THAT, the official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake,
Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby
amended so as to include the aforementioned territory as part
of the Town of Southlake, Texas.
4.
THAT, this ordinance shall become effective and be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the
Mayor and duly attested by the Town Secretary.

PETITION REQUESTING ANNEXATION OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT
TO THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS
To the Honorable Mayor and Members of the Council of the Town of
Southlake, Texas.
GREETINGS:
We, the undersigned Gerald Hunt and wife, Mary Hunt ,
of Tarrant County, Texas, hereinafter called Petitioners, represents
as follows:
1. That they are the owners of a 10.0 acre tract of land
situated in the J. G. Allen Survey, Tarrant County,
Texas, duly described by metes and bounds as shown in Exhibit "B"
attached hereto.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the
boundary of the Town of Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked
Exhibit "A".
2. That the land described in EXHIBIT "A" and "B" hereto
attached, is less than one-half mile in width; that less than three
qualified voters reside thereon, and is contiguous and adjacent to
the Town of Southlake, Texas.
3. Your petitioners agree that if this request for annexation
be granted, said land shall become a part of the Town of Southlake,
Texas, and the said land and any future inhabitants thereof shall
be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of
the Town of Southlake, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances
of said city, now in effect and as hereafter enacted.
WHEREFORE, Your petitioners respectfully request that this
Petition for Annexation to the Town of Southlake, of the land
described in attached EXHIBITS be granted.
WITNESS the signatures of petitioners duly acknowledged as
required for deeds.
