ORDINANCE NO. 47
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE
INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE
TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT
SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALL BE ENTITLED
TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS
OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY THE
ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANT TO TITLE
28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL
STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING
OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas, M. J. Grace and others, inhabitants of the
area herein described and who are qualified to vote for members
of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the Mayor
and the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southlake, Texas,, their
petition requesting annexation of the said area to the Town of
Southlake, Texas, such area being described as follows:
A tract of land situated in the H. Grandberry Survey, Tarrant
County, Texas, more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, same being the Southeast corner of the
H. Grandberry Survey;
THENCE, West along the South boundary line of said survey
to the Southwest corner thereof;
THENCE, North along the West boundary line of said survey to
the South right of way line of Keller-Grapevine (F. M. 1709)
Road;
THENCE, East along the South right of way line of said Road to
the Northwest corner of a tract of land annexed to the Town
of Southlake, Texas, on December 3, 1956, pursuant to its
Ordinance No. 10;
THENCE, South along the West boundary line of said tract 717
varas to the Southwest corner thereof;
THENCE, East along the South boundary line of said tract to
the West boundary line of the H. Grandberry Survey;
THENCE, South along the East boundary line of the said H. Grand-
berry Survey to the place of beginning.
WHEREAS, said petition was acoompanied by an affidavit executed
by M. J. Grace and others, inhabitants of the areas described and who
are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature and that
by signing said affidavit certified that said petition contains the
signatures of more than fifty percent of the qualified voters residing
in such area who have voted in favor of having the said area and the
inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part of the Town of
Southlake, Texas; and
WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town of
Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection
with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said
area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in
width and that all of same is adjacent of the present City Limits
of the Town of Southlake, Texas;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKEx
TEXAS:

THE hereinafter described territory lying and adjacent to the Town
of Southlake, Texas, is hereby annexed and brought withinthe Corporate
Limits and made an integral part of the Town of Southlake, Texas, said
territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described
by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, same being the Southeast corner of the
H. Grandberry Survey;
THENCE, West along the South boundary line of said survey
to the Southwest corner thereof;
THENCE, North along the West boundary line of said survey to
the South right of way line of Keller-Grapevine (F. M. 1709)
Road;
THENCE, East along the South right of way line of said Road to
the Northwest corner of a tract of land annexed to the Town
of Southlake, Texas, on December 3, 1956, pursuant to its
Ordinance No.10;
THENCE, South along the West boundary line of said tract 717
vaeas to the Southwest corner thereof;
THENCE, East along the South boundary line of said tract to
the Ifest boundary line of the H. Grandberry Survey;
THENCE, South along the East boundary line of the said H. Grandy
berry Survey to the place of beginning..

THAT the inhabitants of the Territory herein annexed to the
Town of Southlake, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights
and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and
ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed andadopted in
pursuant to Title 28, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil.
Statutes of Texas.
3.
THE official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake* Texas,
to be corrected and amended so as to include the aforementioned
described territory as part of said Town.
THIS ordinance shall become effective from and after its
passage and approved.
