ORDINANCE NO. 9
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE
INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE
TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS,. AND PROVIDING THAT
SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE TOWN OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS
SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES
OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS,
AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN
PURSUANCE TO TITLE 28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE,
REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND
CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, ASIERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PROVID-
ING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREASs pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas, C. M. Gordon and others, inhabitants of the
area herein described and who are qualified to vote for members
of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the Mayor
and the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Southhlake, Texas, their
petition requesting annexation of the said area to the Town
of Sout.hla.ke, Texas, such area being described as follows:
Situated in the W. W. Hall Survey, Abstract No,. 695,
Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described by
metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the West Line of the W. W. 11all
Survey, Abstract No, 695, Tarrant County, Texas, 500
feet North of the Keller Grapevine Road (F. M. 1709),
said point being the present North City Limit Line
in the South part of said Survey;
THENCE, North along the said West Boundary Line of
the said Survey 442 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, East in a line parallel to the South boundary
line of the said W. W. Hall Surveys a distance of 830.5
feet to the present City Limit Line, which is 400 feet
West of County Project No, 3021;
THENCE, South along the said City Limit Line, in a line
parallel to the West boundary line of the said W. W„
Hall Survey, a distance of 437 feet to a point which
is 500 feet North of the Keller Grapevine Road
(F+ M. 1709). the present City Limit Line of Southlake,
Texas;
THENCE, in a Westerly direction along the said City
Limit Line to the West Boundary Line of the said W. W.
Hall Survey, the place of beginning.
WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed
by C. M. Gordon and others, inhabitants of the areas described
and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature
and that by signing said affidavit certified that said petition
contains the signatures of more than fifty percent of the qualified
voters residing in such area, who have voted in favor of having the
said area and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part
of the Town of Southlake, Texas; and
WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town
of Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection
with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said
area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in
width and that all of same is adjacent of the present City Limits
of the Town of Southlake, Texas;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:

THE hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the Town
of Southlake, Texas, is hereby annexed and brought within the
corporate limits and made an integral part of the Town of Southlake,
Texas, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and
being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING situated in the W. W. Hall Survey, Abstract No, 6951
Tarrant County, Texas= more fully described by metes and
bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the West Line of the W. W. Hall
Survey, Abstract No, 695, Tarrant County, Texas, 500 feet
North of the Keller - Grapevine Road (F. N. 1709), said
point being the present North City Limit Line in the South
part of said Survey;
THENCE, North along the said West Boundary Line of the said
Survey 442 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, East in a line parallel to the South boundary line
of the said W. W. Hall Surveys a distance of 830.5 feet to
the present City Limit Line, which is 400 feet West of County
Project No. 3021;
THENCE, South along the said City Limit Line, in a line parallel
to the West Boundary Line of the said W. W. Hall Survey, a
distance of 437 feet to a point which is 500 feet North of

THAT the inhabitants of the territory herein annexed to the
Town of Southlake, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights
and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts
and ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted
in pursuant to Title 28, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive• Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas.
3.
THE official map and boundaries of the Town of Southlake,
Texa.sx_ to be corrected and amended so as to include the afore,
mentioned described territory as part of said Town.
4.
THIS ordinance shall become effective from and after its
passage and approved.
