Sign Variance Application
Demonstration
Please demonstrate that the following conditions are applicable to the requested sign variance:
That a literal enforcement of the sign regulation will create an unnecessary hardship or practical
difficulty on the applicant.
Code only allows for a 4 square foot "Drive Thru" sign which on this building will be too
small due to the buildings setback from 5outhlake Blvd.
2. That the situation causing the unnecessary hardship or practical difficulty is unique to the affected
property and is not self imposed.
A sign above the Drive Thru window is needed to direct traffic in the shopping center to the window
and to indicate that the window on the side of the building is for the Pharmacy
3. That the variance will not injure and will be wholly compatible with the use and permitted
development of adjacent properties.
ILL for this center has already approved the signs as shown on the proposed drawing.
4. That the variance will be in harmony with the spirit and purpose of the sign ordinance.
The total square footage for this sign added with the Pharmacy Plus sign on the corner entrance
does not exceed what is allowed by code for this side of this building.
