Prior to adjournment, Mayor Stacy gave the Election Judge Karen Cienki the opportunity

Karen Cienki stated there were very few derogotory comments made during the election
day process even though the lines were very long and the building crowded. Some people
waiting as long as 45 minutes to vote. She stated, "I feel we need to sit back and realize
there might come a time when we need to have more room for the convenience of the
voters. Perhaps have the school district in one room and the City in another room. On
Saturday we processed 1,798 voters in seven (7) hours [between 7:00 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.]
and in five (5) hours [from 2:10 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.], we processed 1,602 voters. We did
what normally takes two days, in one day. I had terrific clerks and everyone worked well
together, but you get tired when there are so many voters. I would like to increase the
number of voting clerks for the future elections to be prepared for the heavy turnouts."
Mayor Stacy and Councilmembers commented the election judge and the alternate judge
and all those who worked on the election for a job well done.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
