Call to order The meeting was called to order by Chair Ron Evans at 6:02 p.m. Agenda Item No. 2. Approval of the minutes — April 12, 2011 SPIN Standing Committee Meeting and June 14, 2011 SPIN Standing Committee Meeting. A motion was made to approve the minutes as presented: Motion: Ray Tremain for April, Lou Hillman for June Second: David Baltimore for April, Mike Terry for June Ayes: 7 Nays: 0 Approved: 7 -0 Agenda Item No. 3. JPS Health Network Services Overview Mary Perez provided information about the JPS network. Agenda Item No. 4. Administrative Comments • Upcoming SPIN Meetings o Aug 22 meetings scheduled Agenda Item No. 5. City Manager's Report • Water Conservation - Alison provided attached information from the city website. • Public Art Survey — Alison provided attached information. • Bicentennial Park Grand Opening - Agenda Item No. 6. SPIN Neighborhood Reports SPIN 1: SPIN 2: David said both roundabouts on the north side have been hit by vehicles in the last 3 weeks. SPIN meeting scheduled 8/22 for the property on Dove next to Carroll Middle school. SPIN 3: SPIN 4: Lou has had requests regarding the Cotswald development. The new owner declined holding a SPIN meeting for home size changes. The request was approved. Gateway church wants to have a festival and declined having a SPIN meeting. SPIN 5: SPIN 6: Mike got feedback that Crud Cruiser filled up too fast and traffic was a mess. SPIN 7: Vic said parking for the July 3 event was dangerous across from DPS on Carroll. Pedestrians crossing and walking where there is no sidewalk. SPIN 8: Pattie said the resale shop was turned down and building next to Ethan Allen still being discussed. Toys R Us is going well and staying clean. Told Kroger that handicap spaces are at the wrong end after 10PM when the West door is locked. C SPIN 9: Ray said the Rucker 2030 plan is going to council. SPIN 10: Ron said Dunkin Donuts meeting went well. Albertsons site has been sold to Walmart and thinks they will open by Thanksgiving. SPIN 11: Senior: David said the Director of the Sr Center resigned. Teen: Michelle said school starts 8/22. Agenda Item No. 7. Discussion on Future Agenda Items • Suggestion was made to hold a joint meeting with Planning and Zoning Commission (Mike Terry) • Information needed on redevelopment projects and how those are handled, i.e. comparison between changes that can be administratively approved vs. those that require going back through Planning and Zoning and then to City Council (Mike Terry) Agenda Item No. 8.
