COUNCILPERSON ABSENT: Jim Wooll. CITY STAFF PRESENT: City Manager; Lloyd O. Latta Jr. Director of Public Works; Bill LeGrand and City Attorney; Ken Wippel and Chris Caso. Curry Springer McMahan Stacy The Special City Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Westerholm. He explained the purpose of the sessio] is for the City Council to meet in closed session to discuss Threatened and Contemplated Litigation in regards to the proposed Annexation by the City of Southlake. Motion was made and approval given to convene in closed session as per V.T.A.S. Article 6252-17. Upon return, Mayor Westerholm reconven- ed the public part of the meeting and explained that the purpose of the clos ed session was for the discussion of the p¥oposed annexation of territory by the City of Southlake. The dis- cussion stemmed out of the discussions that have already taken place in one public hearing concerning annexa- tion which will continue in two public hearings scheduled for August 20 and August 27 of this month. As a result of those meetings, at this stage, the Council has reviewed the comments and have reviewed the map that has been prepared and the annexations that were anticipated, and made the decision to go through the annexation in a thre~ phase.period over the next three calen- dar years. Also, the area to the south that will clean-up our southern boundries along Big Bear Creek. A Map has been prepared identifying the areas for immediate consideration. The map is not a "final" say, however, it is what we anticipate as being annexed at this time. The next public hearing will be at Jack D. Johnson Elementary School on August 20 and again on August 27, both at 7:30 p.m. Motion was made to proceed with public hearing on annexation. Motion .carried.
