Members Present: Steve Barry, Frank Bliss, Peter Ermish, Paul Harty, J.C. Johnson, Bret
Kidd, Tim Moorehead, Matt Schirle, Chris Schrobilgen, John Tatum and Mack
Zimmerman
Ex- Officio Members Present: Councilmember Carolyn Morris, Mayor's Advisory Committee
Representative Clayton Reed, Southlake Chamber of Commerce Interim President
Mark Guilbert and Director of Economic Development & Tourism Greg Last
Others Present: Councilmember Jeff Wang, Tourism Marketing Manager Jill Lind and
Economic Development & Tourism Administrative Secretary Denise Artho
1. Call to Order
Chairman Schirle called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.
2. Administrative Items
A. A motion to approve the minutes of the December 5, 2012 meeting was made
by Steve Barry and seconded by Mack Zimmerman, unanimous approval.
B. Chairman Schirle pointed out future meeting dates: April 17, 2013; and June
19, 2013.
3. Review of the SBC Mission and Goals
Chairman Schirle briefed members on the SBC Mission and Goals. There was a
general consensus that the Mission and Goals met the needs of the SBC.
4. Review of the Commercial Allies Economic Development Services Survey
Director Last briefed members on the results of the Commercial Allies Economic
Development Services Survey.
5. Overview of the economic development services and resources of the
Department of Economic Development & Tourism
Director Last presented an overview of the economic development services and
resources of the Department of Economic Development & Tourism. Members were
also provided handouts with department resources included.

6. Discussion regarding business incentives
Director Last briefed members on incentives that are offered to businesses.
7. Review results of One Minute Business Surveys
A. Director Last led a discussion on the One Minute Business Surveys.

locating a business in Southlake ?"
8. Adjournment
A motion was made and seconded at 6:40 regarding adjournment, approved
unanimously.
