1989-07-10 CITY OF SOUTHLAKE 667 N. Carroll Avenue SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING July 10, 1989 7:00 P.M. Present: Mayor, Gary Fickes; Mayor Pro Tem, Betty Springer. Councilmembers: Ralph Evans and Sally Hall Councilmembers Absent: Rick Wilhelm and Pamela Muller City Staff Present: Curtis E. Hawk, City Manager; Karen Gandy, Acting Zoning Administrator; and City Attorney, E. Allen Taylor. The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. by Mayor Gary Fickes, who stated that the agenda items for tonight's meeting will be considered out of order. Agenda Item #2. Resolution 89-45 Administrative Freeze Resolution 89-45, extending the (60) days, was approved. Motion: Evans Second: Hall Ayes: Evans, Hall, Springer Nays: None Approved: 3-0 vote Council convened in a recess administrative freeze for sixty from 7:18 p.m. until 7:23 p.m. A~enda Item #4. Executive Session Mayor Fickes stated that the City Council will be going into executive session pursuant to the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Section 2(e), and 2(j). Refer to posted list of litigations. Council convened in executive session at 7:25 p.m. Council reconvened in open session at 7:55 p.m. City Council Minutes July 10, 1989 page two Agenda Item ~5. Action Necessary in regards to litigations Upon return to open session, motion was made to direct the city attorney to pursue the appeal on the portion of the law suit titled Swift et al vs. Lemke and City of Southlake and pursue any portions that are detrimental to the City of Southlake. Motion: Springer Second: Hall Ayes: Springer, Hall and Evans Nays: None Approved: 3-0 vote Agenda Item #3 New Proposed Zoning Ordinance The new proposed zoning ordinance was discussed by members present.
