1. CALL TO ORDER
A. Mayor John Terrell welcomed all members of the SBC
B. All present made brief self introductions
2. WHY ARE YOU HERE?
A. Brief overviews were provided by members as to why they want to serve on
the SBC
3. OPPORTUNITIES IDENTIFICATION
A. A brainstorming session was facilitated by Director Last. The initial question
was "In what ways can the SBC help build a stronger community ?" Twenty
seven (27) ideas were offered for prioritization.
4. PRIORITIZATION OF OPPORTUNITIES

A. The voting members were provided five "priority dots" and placed the dots on
the idea sheets in their preferred priority. The results of the prioritization are
attached to these minutes.
5. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS
A. Meeting frequency / time determination: It was determined that Wednesday
evenings at 5:00 p.m. were a good meeting time for the majority. As well, both
the 2 and 3rd Wednesdays of the month were generally acceptable with a
preference for the 3rd Wednesday.
B. Meeting notification via Outlook: It was determined that Outlook invitations
were a satisfactory way to invite members.
C. Future meeting topics: No actions taken.
1. Mission and Goals Development: Develop a mission statement and
identify goals based on the prioritized opportunities
2. Operating Guidelines: Review and discuss draft "Operating Guidelines"
