Price, P.E., Director of Public Works Subject: Resolution No. 12 -038, appointing the Director of Public Works or his designee as the official voting representative to the City of Fort Worth Wholesale Customer Advisory Committee and the Trinity River Authority Central and Denton Creek Wholesale Customer Advisory Committees. Action Requested: Resolution No. 12 -038, appointing the Director of Public Works or his designee as the official voting representative to the City of Fort Worth Wholesale Customer Advisory Committee and the Trinity River Authority Central and Denton Creek Wholesale Customer Advisory Committees. Background Information: The City of Southlake has contracts with the City of Fort Worth for the purchase of drinking water and with the Trinity River Authority for the treatment of wastewater at two (2) regional treatment facilities. Each of these contracts establishes an advisory committee consisting of one voting member from each contracting party. The purpose of the committees is to provide input regarding administration, planning, annual budget, rate studies, and regulatory matters. City staff requests the Council's approval of Resolution 12 -038 appointing the Director of Public Works or his designee to these advisory committees. The Director will designate a voting member and alternate voting member for each committee. Financial Considerations: None. Strategic Link: The appointment of representatives to the advisory committees links to the City's Strategy Map relative to the focus area of partnerships and volunteerism. Price, P.E., Public Works Director Chuck Kendrick, Deputy Director of Public Works - Operations RESOLUTION NO. 12 -038 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS APPOINTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OR HIS DESIGNEE AS THE OFFICIAL VOTING REPRESENTATIVE TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH WHOLESALE CUSTOMER ADVISORY COMMITTEE, AND THE TRINITY RIVER AUTHORITY CENTRAL AND DENTON CREEK REGIONAL WASTEWATER SYSTEM ADVISORY COMMITTEES WHEREAS, the City of Southlake has a contract with the City of Fort Worth for the purchase of treated water; and WHEREAS, the uniform water contract establishes a Wholesale Customer Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, the uniform water contract requires that each contracting party appoint a voting member to the Wholesale Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, the City of Southlake has contracts with the Trinity River Authority for the treatment of wastewater at both the Central and Denton Creek regional treatment facilities; and WHEREAS, each of these wastewater treatment contracts establishes a Wholesale Customer Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, each of these wastewater treatment contracts requires that each contracting party appoint a voting member to each Wholesale Advisory Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, hereby appoints the Director of Public Works or his designee as the official voting representative to the City of Fort Worth Wholesale Customer Advisory Committee and the Trinity River Authority Central and Denton Creek Wholesale Customer Advisory Committees.
