Raio Request: Approval of variance request to Sign Ordinance No. 704 -F regulations for proposed monument sign at Starbucks (Boston Market) Location: 125 Davis Boulevard 2 Action Summary • City Council meeting held August 7, 2012, the initial sign variance application approved without the monument sign component. • City Council directed staff to evaluate location. • Staff estimated there is approximately thirty (30) feet of public right -of -way from existing curb at Davis Blvd. At the City Council meeting held August 7, 2012, the sign variance application was approved without the monument sign component. City Council directed staff to evaluate the possibility for the monument sign to be located in the grass area along Davis Boulevard. Staff has taken a look at the right -of -way and estimates there is approximately 30 feet from the existing edge of curb at Davis Boulevard that belongs to TXDOT and the City of Southlake for public right -of -way. 3 Aerial view measuring from pictometry This slide shows the proposed variance request. At the August 7th meeting, City Council also recommended that the applicant revise the previously proposed monument sign to indicate eight (8) inch address numerals as well as sign structure colors that matched the building and the natural wood of the entrance feature. The current proposed sign indicates those recommended changes.
