2012-09-25 V g CITY OF SOU TH LAKE TEXAS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES: September 25, 2012 LOCATION: 1400 Main Street, Southlake, Texas 76092 Executive Conference Room CITY COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor John Terrell, Mayor Pro Tem Brandon Bledsoe, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Pamela Muller and Councilmembers Carolyn Morris, Jeff Wang, and Al Zito. CITY COUNCIL ABSENT: Council member Martin Schelling. STAFF PRESENT: City Secretary Alicia Richardson and Deputy City Secretary Traci Riggs. 1. CALL TO ORDER The Special Meeting was called to order by Mayor Terrell at 5:10 p.m. 2. DISCUSS APPLICATIONS FOR THE VARIOUS BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES. Mayor Terrell informed Council the purpose for the meeting is to review applications submitted for consideration to the following boards: Library Board; Senior Advisory Commission; Southlake Arts Council; Southlake Business Council and Southlake Program for the Involvement of Neighborhoods (SPIN) Standing Committee. Upon review of the applications, Council will provide direction to the City Secretary to arrange applicant interviews. City Secretary Alicia Richardson reviewed the various boards, which included a summary of the existing membership; number of places whose terms expire in 2012; current vacancies; existing members who expressed an interest to be reappointed to their respective board; and new applicants interested in being appointed by Council. Council discussed the applications submitted to the City and directed the City Secretary to arrange interviews. Council noted that it would not be necessary to interview the existing board members. City Secretary Alicia Richardson informed Council interviews would be conducted on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 and formal appointments made on November 6, 2012. The Council was originally scheduled to make appointments on October 16, 2012, but due to scheduling conflicts is moved to November. SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES, September 25, 2012 Page 1 of 2 Council directed staff to change the membership of the Southlake Arts Council to reflect seven regular members and one alternate. 3. EXECUTIVE SESSION Council did not go into Executive Session. 4. MEETING ADJOURNED. Mayor Terrell adjourned the meeting at 6:12 p.m. C)&k()'?-.
