PROJECT: Sign Variance for Burger Shack
EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY: Burger Shack is requesting a variance to Sign Ordinance 704, as amended, to
allow an attached sign that exceeds maximum permitted total sign area as well as
logo height. The location is 410 W. Southlake Boulevard, Suite 160.
REQUEST DETAILS: The purpose of this item is to consider approval of a sign variance that would allow
Burger Shack an attached sign that exceeds maximum permitted sign area as well
as logo height. The applicant is proposing a total sign area of approximately 55
square feet and a logo height of 33 inches. The applicant is occupying the previous
lease space of Fat Daddy's Burger House which received a variance for their sign
area (48.3 sq. ft. approved) and logo height (33 in. approved) in May of 2010. The
applicant is proposing to use the existing Fat Daddy logo sign box and replace
facing with the new Burger Shack graphics.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
APPLICANT: Burger Shack / TVS Company
PROPERTY SITUATION: 410 W. Southlake Boulevard, Suite 160

(SP06 -362) which included conditional regulations for maximum letter

variance on the letter heights, the attached signage would meet all
other regulations of the existing sign ordinance and requiring the
monument signs be brought back to City Council for separate approval.
April 2008 — development monument signs approved by Council
March 2009 — permanent attached sign permitted for Fat Daddy's
May 2010 — additional attached sign /logo permitted for Fat Daddy's
