Lift Station Odor Control
Background:
• Shady Lane & Lonesome Dove lift
stations built in 2000
• Six years successful performance
• Contractor owns /maintains
equipment
• Guarantees rate of $2.53/gal for 12-
months
• Annually - $104,350 - $120,512
Since the construction of the Shady Lane and Lonesome Dove Sanitary Sewer Lift
Stations in 2000, the city has spent approximately $90,000 per year to prevent
hydrogen sulfide production in the sewer system from affecting the residents of the
Kirkwood Hollow neighborhood. Premier Chemicals has been providing this service
for Southlake and Trinity River Authority since 2006 because previous attempts to
control the hydrogen sulfide with other products were not successful. This
agreement with Premier Chemicals includes their the first price increase since 2008
to maintain the equipment on site and deliver their product for $2.53 a gallon for the
next twelve months. At present sewer flow rates Southlake uses about 125 gallons
of product per day bringing our annual total no to exceed $126,512

Division operating budget
