NETCO is a consortium of cities maintaining a trunked radio system in Northeast Tarrant County
Members include: Southlake, Bedford, Colleyville, Euless, Grapevine and Keller
New FCC regulations require the radio system to be upgraded to free up spectrum space
Background Information
Motorola is extending an offer to let NETCO upgrade their radio system using a contract previously negotiated by the City of Fort Worth
This generates $81,000 in total savings to the City
The total due to Motorola for the upgrade is $853,324.44
Infrastructure
Each member City is responsible for contributing to the infrastructure upgrade of the NETCO system.
Southlake’s portion is $644,066.28
City Radio Upgrade
The City must also upgrade its radios to be compliant with the new system
The total cost to upgrade the City’s radios is $209,258.16
NETCOM Dispatch Upgrade
The radio system upgrade also requires the replacement of the consoles at NETCOM Dispatch
Southlake’s portion of this upgrade is $170,560.28
This is paid to Keller
