The number of parking spaces will be brought into conformance with City
o
requirements. More people are dropping off their kids now that there are only two
buses. Additional parking will relieve parking in the neighborhood.
Why only two buses?
The district boundaries were revised and the school lost one neighborhood that
o
was bused is gained one neighborhood that is too close to be bused.
The traffic would flow much better if everyone entered the school going north on Harrell
Dr. instead of from Johnson Rd. Traffic on Johnson Rd. backs up to Pearson causing an
unsafe condition with people using the oncoming traffic lane to get around the backup.
The increased internal stacking will help the traffic flow on Johnson Rd. Faster
o
drop off times will alleviate people parking in the neighborhoods.
How are these improvements being funded?
They are funded by the 2008 bond program.
o
How much lighting will be added?
Additional lighting will be added along the proposed driveway and in the parking
o
lots.
Can you use the softer yellow lights instead of the bright white lights and turn them off on
weekends and late at night? Use the down focused lighting instead of spreading lighting.
Only the building wall lights need to be on.
The lighting will meet the City Lighting Ordinance requirements.
