Metroport Teen Court is a volunteer program which allows juvenile

misdemeanor offenders an alternative to the criminal justice system while
allowing them to assume responsibility for their own actions by involvement
in the judicial process and completion of community service hours.
Completion of their obligations will allow their offenses to not be recorded.

•The Interlocal Agreement is an annual agreement between the cities of Southlake,
Grapevine, Colleyville and Keller to provide funding for Metroport Teen Court.
•Each participating City shall pay $36,750 to the City of Southlake to fund the Teen
Court program, for a total budget of $147,000.
•These funds shall pay for (1) Coordinator and (1) Assistant as well as additional
supplies and security needed for extended operations.

This table shows the past 4 years of case numbers and forecasts for the number of
defendants referred in the participating cities. The total the FY 2011 was 1025;
however the FY 2012 expects to increase to 1,200 cases.
