2004-02-16 Meeting Report (Pet Boarding)Southlake Public Library Adult Services Reading Area SPIN Citywide Forum for Neighborhoods #7 and #S Topic: Proposed Pet Boarding Facility at the NE Corner of Crooked Lane and Continental Blvd. Monday, February 16, ZOOM 7:00 p.m. Summary of Questions and Comments Are there any ordinances that restrict the number of this type of facility within so many feet? This would be the third facility of this type in the area„ I am mostly concerned about noise. I live in Cambridge Place and there is already a problem regarding the existing facilities. How many animals can you accommodate at one time? Are those animals of all sizes? So there could be all large animals in the facility at one particular time? All of the animals are together' in one open atrium area? What are the dimensions of the brick walls that have insulation for sound? As far as the runs go, will they be visible from the road? How is the refuse handled? You don't think that it is going to cause a noise problem for the neighborhood? Are there any similar facilities of this type in the nearest 50 or so miles? Will the entrance be located off'of Continental? Do you have wrought iron fencing on this project? How tall will the wooden fence be? What do you mean when you refer to a multi -color facade? Will this be a five million dollar facility that you are building? Are you familiar with any evidence of the impact that approval of this type of facility would impact the attraction of local business in the surrounding area?
