2001-11-15 Meeting Report (Cross Timber Hills)SPIN #12 Neighborhood Forum Issues Related to Cross Timber Hills Neighborhood Sewer Project Thursday, November 15,2001 7:00 p.m. Southlake Town Hall 3 rd Floor Trainin Rooms Summary of Questions and Comments How much of street asphalt work needs to be done? What is the estimated cost to surface the streets in the Subdivision? Is general contractor going to pay for resurfacing the streets in the Subdivision? What is the total value of all bonds we have on this project? Are you going to begin repair on the roads next week? If you start road repairs while other work is still to be completed that requires use of the heavy equipment, won't that require having to re -do the roadwork? Why don't we set the schedule can we hold off on the roadwork until the other issues are complete? Workers are coming into the neighborhood this causes safety issues had the contractor at night with the lights on can we enforce some type of safety issues? Off the side of the road, can they make the edges even, need to build the road out beyond the edge of the asphalt or people parking off the road will break this again. Will the City crews repair these "side of the road" items when called out to patch streets in the future? Will the road surface in the neighborhood be one color when the contractor repairs? One concern is the driveways they will have to replace the concrete in driveways and it will leave a discoloration can the concrete be dyed to get a better match? Where they have bored across the street, we now have in inverse speed bump, can this be addressed (on Lakeview Drive)? Spider cracks on the asphalt can we black tar those? Slurry, will this even out "gatored" surface or does the road need to be reconstructed? When we all have hooked up to sewer, and the tractors dig up, will this require the use of all of the heavy equipment again this will require further repairs? Hooking on is not as traumatic as placing the sewer lines in this will not require heavy equipment to tie a service on is that correct? When are they going to get all complaints taken care of? I want to know WHEN! If people have a fence that needs to be done because of animals, can they get done and have contractor reimburse them for the costs? How about a patch will they select who does the work or do we have a say in that? Has all of the sewer line been laid and tested? Where are the untested lines located? If in the tested area can we now hook up? (1350 Ten Bar Trail) Contractor to give the City money for trees versus fixing themselves? Would like to have the City handle this, they have proven that they don't have the knowledge of tree issues to handle properly who needs to make the tree issues move forward (analysis of tree issues and implementation) What is the timing on tree mitigation optimal scenario would be to get these issues handled NOW! Lake issues with mosquitoes, no water is flowing into the lakes, didn't have a problem until they started working here. Do we have timing in contract to address immediate tree needs, the problem of concern is the long -term tree issues that need to come up in a reasonable time frame to gauge the level of tree issues? As I understand it, a tree that could be removed immediately and trees die long- term, and if the long -term issues happen, we are responsible to mitigate is that correct? Recall earlier discussions, on identifying plants trees early need to fill up correction forms and pictures, correct? When will dredging of the ponds occur? How doe we go about getting trees actually looked into? On sodding, can you lay sod all year long? Can we lay it right now? What about other plants they have destroyed? Will they be replaced? Will they replace plants or hire someone? When can they get this issue completed? At any point in time that they don't do the work up to the City's satisfaction, the City can declare default? When would the City do this under what circumstances should it be done? Have we provided a chronology of expectations to them in writing versus calling the contractor? Safety concern manhole cover pulled off several times, safety hazard now exists open to kids, animals, and debris building up inside the manhole can the City address this? Page 2 of 2
