QUESTIONS / CONCERNS
Does most of the shade come from the trees in the play areas?
Yes
Î
If the trees are going to be planted duri-20 years to
grow?
Yes, we will plan to put in some temporary shade areas; also, there are some
Î
existing mature trees that will stay.
Will the slides be plastic or concrete?
Concrete is preferred because of the heat.
Î
Do they slide well?
Yes, when polished
Î
What age group can use that slide?
If you can get up there, you can slide
Î
Will there be any age restriction signage?
No, the equipment is all sized proportionate to the intended age that will use it; it
Î
is tested and safe.
Will this new playground area cause a need to increase city staff?
No
Î
What about the old play structures?
They will be replaced; they are 16 ½ years old
Î
What is the timing for this project?
At least a year; possibly sooner if the existing equipment becomes a safety issue.
Î
Are concrete slides new?
No, we have been using concrete slides for years
Î
Is there a filter system for the water features
Yes
Î
Is the water clean?
Yes, the water comes in clean then will eventually flow to the pond and be used
Î
for irrigation.
Is the roller rink staying?
Yes, for now
Î
Are there going to be swings?
Yes, all different kinds
Î
Why arent there any see saws or merry-go-rounds anymore?
Safety issues
Î
What about a zip line?
We dont currently have one but could possible work it into the plan; we would
Î
like to work in some of the existing elements
What is the cost?
It is budgeted at $1 million / $9.8 million for Phase 2
