The City Council of the City pf Southlake herein enters into a Friendship City Agreement with Suzhou Wuzh©ng. District, China in an effort to facilitate cultural, commercial and educational exchanges 'betw the two cities; to build and a ch ie ve mutual trust; and to establish a permanent fri endship between the communities of Southlake, Texas, USA and Suzhou Wuzhong District, China. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective on the date of approval by the City. Council. FRIENDSHIP CITY - AGREEMENT SOUfHLAKE r- The City of Southlake, Texas, the United State.af America and the Suzhou Wuzhong District, Jiangsu Province, the People's Republic of -China do hereby confirm a friendship city alliance between the peoples of,our two communities We agree to make united efforts to promote the prosperity of our communities and nations and world peace. In order to build ;mutual trust .4nd to continue our friendship city alliance, we agree to do our best toward the achievement of the following: (1) The two sides will carry out, in accordance with the principles of equality and mutual benefit exchanges and cooperation between the two cities (districts)4n.. . various forms in the fields of administrative and civilian life, economy; science and technology, culture, education, etc. (2) Regular contacts shall be maintained between the leaders and relevant deparinfehts or organizations of the. two sides to facilitate consultations on the exchanges and cooperation as well as matters of common concern. (3) This Agreement, signed on `November 13, 2410 in Wuzhong District, Suzhou, is done in duplicate in the Chinese and English languages, both texts being equally authentic and coming into force from the date of signature.
