Item 9B Department of Planning & Development Services S T A F F R E P O R T January 11, 2012 CASE NO: SV11-017 PROJECT: Variance to the Sign Ordinance 704, as amended, for HomeGoods REQUEST: HomeGoods is requesting a variance to the sign ordinance 704, as amended, for maximum attached sign width. On the front elevation, the applicant is requesting a variance to the requirement that an attached sign is limited in width to 75% of the single plane façade; which in this case allows approximately 33.2 feet. The proposed sign measures 35 feet in width or 79% of the single plane facade. HISTORY: The Southlake Corners Conditional Sign Permit (SP04-050) was approved by City Council on April 6, 2004. The Conditional Sign Permit does not address the regulation for allowable width on a single plane façade, therefore, the sign must comply with the Sign Ordinance 704, as amended. STAFF COMMENTS: The sign criteria and application are attached to this report.
