CONSENT AGENDA: All items listed below are considered to be routine by the Southlake Parks Development Corporation Board and will be enacted with one motion. SECTION 551.072 DELIBERATION REGARDING REAL PROPERTY The Southlake Parks Development Corporation Board may conduct a closed meeting to deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property. SECTION 551.073 DELIBERATION REGARDING PROSPECTIVE GIFT The Southlake Parks Development Corporation Board may conduct a closed meeting to deliberate a negotiated contract for a prospective gift or donation to the City. SOUTHLAKE PARKS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION MEETING April 6, 2004 LOCATION: 1400 Main Street, Southlake, Texas Council Chambers in Town Hall Board Members Present: President Rex Potter; Vice-President Dorothy Wood; Members Sherry Berman, Carolyn Morris, Cara White. Board Members Absent: Tom Stephen and Andy Wambsganss Staff Present: Deputy Director of Community Services Steve Polasek, Senior Planner Chris Carpenter, Recreation Supervisor Steve Moore and Deputy City Secretary Tara Brooks. Agenda Item No. 1, Call to order. The meeting was called to order by President Rex Potter at 4:43 p.m. Agenda Items No. 2 Executive Session. No executive session was necessary. Agenda Item No. 3, Public Forum. No one spoke during the public forum. Agenda Item No. 4, Administrative Comments. There were no administrative comments. Agenda Item No. 5, Approval of the minutes of the special SPDC meeting held March 2, 2004. Motion was made to approve the minutes of the SPDC meeting held March 2, 2004 as presented. Motion: Woods Second: Berman Ayes: White, Wood, Berman, Potter Nays: None Abstains: Morris Approved: 4-0-1 Agenda Item No. 6A. Matching funds request from Southlake Girl's Softball Association for purchase and construction of batting cages at Bob Jones Park softball fields. Deputy Director of Community Services Steve Polasek presented this item to the Corporation. The Southlake Girls Softball Association seeks SPDC Matching Funds for the purchase and construction of four batting cages at the Bob Jones Park softball fields. The proposal would allow for construction of four chain link batting cages to include interior netting, clay surfacing, pitching rubbers, home plates and additional walkways and fencing. The batting cages were included as part of the recent site plan revisions at Bob Jones Park. If approved, the City share of the project would be up to $22,500 from the SPDC Matching Funds line item. The Parks Board recommended approval (8-0) at their March 8, 2004 meeting. Board Member White stated she did not think the GSSA had raised their portion of the money as of yet. She does not believe it is right to flag this money now when others might request it. Brent Strehlow, 210 Swallow, Board member for GSSA stated that they do have the money and are ready to get started as soon as they have their approval. He said they want to be done by May 1, 2004. Deputy Director Polasek said there would be $17,500 until October 1, 2004. Motion was made to approve the matching funds request from Southlake Girls Softball Association for purchase and construction of batting cages at Bob Jones Park softball fields.
