ORIENTATION FOR BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEMBERS 5:30 PM
1. Overview of Board of Adjustment responsibilities.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: If a need arises to seek the advice from the City Attorney as to the posted
subject matter of this Board of Adjustment meeting, the issues or matters will be discussed in
executive session.
1. Pursuant to Section 551.071, Texas Government Code, the Board may meet in executive
session to consult with the City Attorney regarding matters authorized by Section 551.071,
including matters posted on this agenda.
2. Reconvene: Action necessary on items discussed in executive session.

1. Call to Order.
2. Oath of Office for new and reappointed Board of Adjustment members.
3. Approval of the minutes of the June 11, 2009 regular Board of Adjustment meeting.
4. Administrative Comments.
REGULAR AGENDA:
5. Consider: ZBA-567, Special Exception Use Permit per Ordinance No. 480, Section 44.12
(1) for a family quarters. The applicant is requesting a waiver of the one thousand
(1,000) square foot maximum floor area requirement to allow a 1,704 square foot
family quarters in a separate accessory building. The property is located at 2350
Crooked Lane, being described as Lot 10, Meadow Oaks Addition, an addition to
the City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas and being approximately 2.3 acres.
The current zoning is "SF-1A" Single Family Residential District. Applicant:
Charles Wood. The applicant has requested to table this item to the July 30,
2009 meeting.
6. Consider: ZBA-568, Variance to Ordinance No. 480, Section 11.5 (c), requiring a side yard
setback of twenty (20) feet. The applicant is requesting a side yard setback of ten
(10) feet to build a garage/workshop. The property is located at 615 Brewer Rd.,
being described as Lot 3, Block 1, Brewer Addition, an addition to the City of
Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, and being approximately 1.43 acres. The
current zoning is "SF-1 B" Single Family Residential District. Applicant: Jason

7. Consider: ZBA-575, Special Exception Use Permit per Ordinance No. 480, Section 44.12
(7) for portable buildings. The applicant is requesting to place one additional
portable building and to obtain reapproval for one existing portable building at
Johnson Elementary School for education classrooms. The property is located at
1301 N. Carroll Avenue, being described as Lot 13, F. Throop No. 1511 Addition,
an addition to the City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, and being
approximately 14.07 acres. The current zoning is "CS" Community Service
District. Applicant: Carroll ISD. PUBLIC HEARING
8. Consider: Meeting Adjourned.
