Southlake’s allotted number of votes for a candidate to the Denton Central Appraisal
District Board of Directors.

District Board of Directors

The TaxCode provides for the membership of the Board of Directors.
Eachentity located within the county may submit nominees for consideration
Board members are appointed by a vote of the appraisal district taxing units. Each entity
has an allotted number of votes, which is determined by the previous year levy.
The City of Southlake’s 2010 Levy is $574,353.25 and the City of Southlake’s number of
allotted votes is three. The City of Southlake is not largely represented in Denton County.
As compared to the City of Lewisville who has 123 votes.
The candidate who receives the highest number of votes will become a member of the
Board of Directors.

The City of Southlake has a small area located within Denton County. The number of votes
is based on a percentage of the total tax levy of Denton County. Our percentage yields a
number of three votes.
